Teagasc Post Storm Timber Harvesting Events

Irish forests have suffered widespread damage following recent storms Eowyn and Darragh. Forest owners are now facing the task of planning for the harvesting of windblown trees and subsequent forest restoration.

In April, Teagasc, in conjunction with the Forestry Division, DAFM is organising two important on-site demonstrations in Roscommon and Galway on managing forestry storm damage, focusing on harvesting of timber and planning for forest restoration. All forest owners impacted by recent storms are encouraged to attend.
